Pending budget approval, Richland County Council sets aside $150,000 of the General Operating Fund each year for the Discretionary Grant Fund. This program is designed to provide financial support to organizations and agencies that carry out community-based programs and/or services throughout Richland County. In keeping with the mission of Richland County Government, this program attempts to encourage organizations to continue to offer innovative and much needed services that enhance the quality of life for all citizens of this County.

Important Grant Information

Richland County is now accepting applications for the FY13 funding cycle.
A grant writing workshop will be held on February 2, 2012 at 2020 Hampton Street in the 4th Floor Conference Room from 2-3 pm. Please register by calling (803) 576-2069 or by emailing salleys@rcgov.us. The application for this grant program has changed. Please read all guidelines carefully! If your organization received a Discretionary Grant for FY12 (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012), you are not eligible to apply for funding for FY2013. FY12 Discretionary Grant recipients must wait one fiscal year before applying for new funding. Click here to view the list of FY 2012 grantees.
