Richland Councilman Takes Oath of Office
for House Seat 77
Resigns from Richland County Council

Longtime Richland County Councilman Joe McEachern has resigned from Richland County Council after taking the oath of office as the newest Representative for House Seat 77.

According to state law, Representative McEachern had to resign once he took the oath of office for House Seat 77. Mr. McEachern represented Richland Council District #7 for twelve years. Upon resigning Rep. McEachern said, “It has been my profound privilege to serve on Richland County Council and I will continue to advocate for the residents of my community in the South Carolina General Assembly”.

Councilwoman elect Gwendolyn Davis Kennedy will begin representing the citizens of Richland County District #7 in January.
