| Mission Statement: |
|
|
The Finance Office is responsible for developing, maintaining, and administering
all programs related to general accounting functions, invoice audits and certification
of funds, cost accounting and payroll functions as well as preparation of the Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report. To prepare an accurate, balanced annual budget using conservative
revenue projections through a formal budgetary preparation policy for the Administrator to
submit to Richland County Council.

The Finance Office is responsible for the identification, acquisition and management
of federal, state and other grants that supplement existing County programs or assist
in the funding of new ones. The office also performs research and analysis of the
fiscal impact of management decisions and proposals.

| Accomplishments: |

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) award for excellence presented by the
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for 21 consecutive years.

|
Budgetary document award for excellence presented by the GFOA for 5 consecutive years.

Grants |
Richland County makes the following grant opportunities available to non-profit organizations that serve
the County and meet the specific grant program criteria. Application deadline for FY2011 Accommodation
Tax and Hospitality Tax Grant is February 26, 2010. Application deadline for FY2011 Discretionary
